BBq again. This time Tan book a chalet. It was nobody's birthday but all our parents asked the same qns, who's birthday chalet we are attending? hahah! Well, Singaporeans are very boring. Its such a small country, so staying at a chalet over the weekend is liked a so called short trip resort. Back in the Secondary or poly school days, attending chalets 5 to 6 times a year is such a common thing. Cos its a cheaper alternative to have a place by ourselves to organise a party. It took me 4 hrs to prepare the raw food and a bacon and mushroom bits whipped potato before I set off to Pasir Ris.
We barbecued two days in a row and had steamboat and chocolate fondue on the second night too. We ate alot. The second night was crazy, we start preparing and ate from 6.30pm. We had steamboat first, then we bbq the leftovers, had chocolate fondue when Ting brought her kids over and finally when we were watching movie in the room, we had our second steamboat and finished the leftovers at almost 2am. Total of 8hrs+ of non stop eating like nobody's business. Worse than a buffet. The third day we had a sumptuous dim sum in Hong Xin in Chin Swee road for brunch. I'm starting to feel like a pig, put on 2kg, damn! Have to exercise it off.
Sunday after dim sum, five of us drove over to visit Wanting, our old classmate who just gave birth that morning. It was the first time I get to see a newborn on the very first day. Her baby boy was so tiny, so delicate, sleeping peacefully away! We were really impressed that she did a natural birth without the help of science, Epidural. She was pain like mad but we can tell that she looked very tired after birth and didn't sleep the whole night. She even manage to sms us early in the morning shortly after her birth, power sia! Bless her and her kid!
