Desserts Desserts

Desserts accessories. The "in" thing from Japan. Saw on news that now its very popular to learn how to "make" desserts, well not for consumption but for wearing purposes. Making desserts out from plastics and rubber, making into nice girlie and cutie handphone straps, neckies, charm bracelets, big rings, yummy clips and tasteful earrings.

Well if you don't specialise in making, Qpot is perhaps an alternative. First exposed to Qpot was from Layc, who is a fanatic fan f Qpot. We loved the nice charms from juicy couture and she came across qpot in Japan. I'm planning to go HK in nov, hmmm having evil thoughts of getting a few for myself, wahaha! Perhaps the cheapest way is to get the hp straps and string into another chain. On average a hp strap is 3000 over yen and a neckie is about 8000 yen.

My favourite is the shadow series, first saw it on MILK mag that my bf's sister bought. Same design mounts but all into shadowy grey and blk. My favourite of all is the whipped cream ring.

One of the iconic Qpot product is the macaron series. Macaron is a famous french dessert, the shape of the dessert itself is very attractive and lovely bite size. I'm planning to get this macaron brown hp strap and match with a pink whipped cream hp strap and string them together as a necklace.

Contemplating on this lovely pink whipped petal brooch!

New "Like a Gentleman" series. I specially like this fringe big necklace and cute moustache ear stud.

Other designs that touch my heart are featured here as well. Well I have a budget to stick to, so these few pieces are just meant for my liking, I don't think I will pay that kind of money.

Kato Spado

Keke, usually Japanese love calling kate spade, “kato spado”. I think its ”o” thingy in them, tamago, yoko, Tokyo, Kyoto and etco.

Recently sales is everywhere. It just crossed my mind again to whether should I get Karen the Kate Spade pencil case. Last yr was out of budget, this yr with a stable job I guess I can afford one for her birthday since she liked it so much when she saw mine last yr.

Not on sale item but I wouldn’t say its new stock. Usually sg kate spade is slower in bringing in new products. Their so called new products are slightly passé. Got her this lovely bright orange pencil case in leather. She likes anything except pink. And the girls got her a red patent namecard holder.

We were supposed to get a bow clutch like this red in green for Karen but the leather was too black spotted. We couldn’t compromise to the quality even though the sales assistant emphasize this is a natural element of the leather, not that it faulty. Anyway I find the red is prettier than the green one, too bad it was sold out.

My favorite is the westbery leather sling bag. Now they have it in the lovely bright yellow shade or orange. But too bad its not on sale and cost S$400++, must think twice. Currently they have the pink shade one on kate spade’s official website. Nicee! But I still prefer the yellow, keke!

Another westbury leather product I like is the tote bags. They are roomy and not too big for carrier. The black seems great for an everyday bag. I’m planning to save up to buy a nice blk or brown leather bag for long term use. My oral kiely is deteriorating, the lamination are detaching themselves soon there will be peels, nooooo!

Love this butterfly purse by the way, its so cute. So summery! The orange and pink just look so gd together.

Weddings Weddings

Fallen more sick after Christine's wedding. The cough is killing me. Another wedding just passed, finally! haha, I am under pressure after each weddings. Y? of cos its not about finding the other right half, let's just say I am super helpful, ahaha!

I was bridesmaid for the 2 recent weddings. Layc's on Nov 1st and Christine's on 28th Dec. Both weddings I had fun but also before the weddings I couldn't sleep much. Layc's, I was still sewing her cheongsam on actual day in between breaks from the morning gate crash and the banquet dinner at night. Christine's, I was still trying to figure out the iMovie by my own for the first time just to insert the music to the videoclip I export from Flash and trying to get the music fade in and out and save the right format and file size, at 8hrs before the gate crash in the morning. Blame myself for being last min and slow also, huhuhu!

Here are the fruits I had produced.

Layc's lace cheongsam, design and produced by me. Took about 4 fittings to get it right, cos I had no confidence in getting right after I kinda screwed up the Shanghai Tang trial cheongsam making interview. Layc looks beautiful in it. I'm kinda proud of this dress, haha cos it's considered the neatiness of all the clothes I have designed and produced and most importantly the bride loves it.

This is the photo montage video clip I did for christine. She wanted the old vintage film feel. I think I didn't really do much research on the chaplin style, anyway I just anyhow, do it my own way. I did the animate on Flash after I touched up bits of the photos from colour tone and christine's acne face from her teen days, haha! Exporting of the file to quicktime was kinda tedious and I had no1 to ask. So I anyhow until i get it right. Stress...... Anyways, then come to iMovie, I even more clueless. So anyhow again, I click and drag and searching the right music and sequence to insert into the clip. Took a while to anyhow discover the functions. I'm bad with notes and instruction books. Finally by 11pm on 27th Dec the thing is done!

Here's the clip!

So PHOTOSHOP!

Well when I say so Photoshop means its not gd! Look at this Victoria's Secret picture, I know Amercia and the world is going in recession, but pls lah, don't have save until like this. Basicially this photo online is orginally a different bra and they drew this on the model, no shadow nothing. Just remind me of the lousy DI ppl in China we engaged. Never even touchup the armpit hair on the china models. Yes lots of china girls doesn't shave their armpits . I thought models will be exceptional cos their arms exposed most of the time due to changing but then again they don't, gross....!

Had a MEGA BIG MILK tea over Sunday on delia's bday. Something special we order from Wang Jiao HK cafe in Bugis Junction. You need to have someone's bday on actual day, minimum 6 ppl in a grp with orders more than $30, then u can order this. And best of all, its FREE.

And on a different day, I had a big gingerbread man as tea break after dinner with Elaine in Chinatown after buying some crafts stuffs for her xmas pressies.

Online shopping is probably a better deal!

Ladies, Singapore ladies, La senza in SG is OVERPRICED! Well its normal that la senza in sg is selling more expensive here as its an imported item but to our horror, its way too much of a diff. The shipping fee is actually cheaper alternative than u buy in the retail stores if u buy 3 or more products.

Shipping to Singapore is expensive, costing CAN$40 (ard S$50). But if u buying a few products sharing with ur mates or adding more intimate collection to ur wardrobe, u definitely saves. Let’s review the costing on the pussycat doll range that recently just launched in la senza worldwide.

One “Pussycat Dolls by Robin Antin ...Shhh Shipwreck Ruffled Satin Bra” cost S$36.31 on the La Senza Canadian site. In Singapore this same bra cost S$75, having $38.70 difference.

Then “Pussycat Dolls by Robin Antin ...Shhh Shipwreck Ruffled Striped Short” cost S$25.23 online. In Singapore retail outlet cost $35. Making almost a $10 diff.

If u buy more than 2 items, u are actually covered the shipping fees and saves in the process after u purchase a third product onwards.

Since pounds has dropped, its a gd time to explore the UK online sites for great hunting deals. Try www.asos.com , lots of stuffs and choices.
